Hi, fellow UTians! To answer your question, it depends on whether I'm in a small map running RipperArena with 32 bots or not. I can go a few hours if those conditions aren't met, otherwise I have a weak bladder. Probably from all the blade penetrations...

9-10 hours until my ass got numb, did not play tho, had to restore my UT-servers after a hard disk crash...

If you play bots, you can hit ESC. Hell, there is even a pause command you can bind if you prefer.
If you play online, you can brb.
