About to be non-active
My very last UT map project: CTF-FacePalm (tropical CTF-Face remake)
Why do I leave? click here
What I want to do next: Joining an UDK team (uncertain however) and improve 3D modelling and texture editing skills
Thanks to those who visibly supported me until/at the end!
My reactivated account on indiedb.com.

Re: MAPS - the best maps made by community
AS-FoT-OrionsCurse-PART2 for FoT-5 (cancelled @ around 90%) a heap of heartache in that one I pulled the plug and it's life ended at 81000+ world nodes. I still look at it from time to time, but resist strongly the urge to try and complete it . It isn't the most complicated ut map I have ever seen, but it is a huge amount of bsp lights meshes actors and artwork and I can never decide what to cut and what to keep, so i just close the editor and run away quicklyniX wrote:ohhh and speaking of the devil! Interstingly, only about half of the stuff/Rooms in the OCP2 map was used in making the CTF version - iirc that CTF went over 50000 world nodes (the dup and flip was a really scary manouver on that one), but it worked, luckily - so OCP2 was not a completely wasted effort. I think now when a ut map balloons to over 40000+ world nodes, then you should probably start rethinking some things in your design. The engine is old, and struggles when nearing it's limits. If you let the map keep growing you could be asking for pain and troubles ...
Of course, your last DM worked out okay, and that one was quite fat, lol! so GJ on that one
Cheers

I think this was my best map I made for DM action, do or die here, you can't run or hide but can make strategic moves and track down your opponent very fast, but they can also get away very fast probably a max of 3on3.

Yes, you are right. But Red_Fist did add a new map to this thread (even so it's his own map )UnrealGecko wrote:And the post before it was in 2011.papercoffee wrote:Well ...the last post was Sat Jun 22, 2013 ...I don't know if this necro bump post was necessary.

Re: MAPS - the best maps made by community
Just found a lot of maps stored in a bunch of CDs, I guess some of these maps are fairly unknown.
Here you have two of them:
DM-Deathstarpf (this one needs no introduction):
http://www.firedrive.com/file/A0AE07FA903F378D
DM-Arenes (cool map made by a talented french guy whose name I ignore):

Hope somebody likes these

I've got DM-Deathstarpf, in both that format as well as the 2 CTF versions and the DOM. The DM is from a set, including DM-Naboopf & DM-Tattooniepf
