Maps from 2004

Post by ClimateChange » Mon Dec 02, 2019 9:33 pm

I think those two maps were uploaded to unrealplayground, found them on unrealarchive. I never played them on any server and they might be running on some server out there. I think I'll make a new release just to add some light to dark areas.

Oh, I think I played this SGTech version of Deck a decade ago, or at the least a very similar one. Can you give the exact title/link please? It would be a blast to try it again.
You must construct additional pylons.

I think I made this funnel map in 2007. Somehow it ended up on some russian server and SLV servers.

This funnel map was lost long ago. I just made a new one in 3 hours. It's not exactly the same map but the previous bottomless funnel was just a funnel shape with a warpzone in the middle of it to have an endless fall. Already sent the 7z to ut-files and unrealarchive.

Ancient Arena. Sent to mapraider and unrealarchive. New version fixes:

Image Image Image

-Red seam on skybox (it was a gradient texture with some few pixels offseted)
-Lights added to the dark spots on water and the lifts
-HOMs on lifts
-Lifts were black with no light (disabled dynamic light mover). No idea if they were like that back then
-Deleted Linkin Park music (no idea who added it)
-Remade the lifts with proper triangles (vertex connected to vertex with no T edges)

I tried to add EFX audio effect but it didn't work for some unknown reason.... In game there is no echo at all.

Found DM-Steel tourney in medor's redirect. I thought this map was lost for good. I was obsessed with Grit-Tourney back then. I tried to make a similar map and ended up making a huge maze. I built it by adding corridors, building stairs, platforms, rooms, with no direction at all, just build and build until I got satisfied with the result.

It turns out that medor's redirect has the original bottomless funnell. Somebody edited it and imported some music to mylevel.

DM-Steel-Tourney-v2. I just added a bunch of zone portals, doubling the zone count. Made the movers use the keyframe 0 for lighting. Other than that I didn't touch the lights, textures or geometry.

Link to v2 removed.

Sent Steel-tourney v3 to unrealarchive. Deleted a lot of pathnodes, reducing the filesize by ~300Kb.

Yeah its better to send the map to UnrealArchive when you're 100% sure its the final version.
