To anybody wanting to run a UT server on Linux there is a significant UnrealTournament.ini tweak that you should know about.
Look under the header [IpDrv.TcpNetDriver] and you will see this line:
KeepAliveTime=0.2
Change it to:
KeepAliveTime=0.000000
This will cure the creeping ping bug that also plagued Windows 2000 when it had first came out. Trust me, you will want to do this if you set up a Linux based server. It has been tried and tested and if you don't do it, anyone who connects will have their ping constantly jumping up and down by 20-40 ticks.
I had stumbled across this info at unrealadmin.org and I just set up a Linux based server on Ubuntu 8.10. It does make a huge difference. If there are more Linux server tweaks, I will add more to this for Linux servers as I come across it. Perhaps some others can help out.

Im sure that was fixed in the 440 or 451 patch. I never have a creeping ping problem on my *nix server, and its been there almost 4 years.. I will give it a try though.
