GOG version of UT99 doesn't boot on Steam Deck, help?

Hello so I have gotten Unreal tournament 99 on GOG and trying to play it on my steamdeck I saw a tutorial on YouTube but that didn't work. I have the patch updated to 469b and the error I always get now is

: Launch error

And I have no idea how to get it to launch

Welcome aboard! Renaming your thread title so that people know the issue beforehand if that's ok.

Personally don't have a Steam Deck so not too familiar, are you able to update to the latest version 469d?

yes i have it updated currently the steam deck runs on linux incase anyone has any hints
