Custom character creation info

Anyone has more info on creating custom characters?

Im trying to gather some more info, as of now i have experience with making and importing a mesh (Maya, 3dsMax) and i made a skin with skinmaker. A fully custom character would be a nex step.

If someone could share some experience how they do it i will really appreciate it.

I was talking about a custom character model.
So lets say i want to make my sister or myself in unreal tournament. I know how to use Maya and i have made and imported meshes from Maya to UT99 with 3dsmax inbetween.

I noticed i cant find any unreal engine 1 info on epicgames udn website and also the wiki on beyondunreal has nothing, only the archived site i mentioned has some tutorials.
