I'd say @Nephew9999 was your best bet. He specialized in custom models.

Problem is, he's around so rarely....

thanks for your reply his page does not even show when he was last online, seems like there really is almost no information and tutorials about it. only some archived old websites with missing links. very sad.
its as if everything is purged from the entire internet on purpose.
it looks like all original characters from Unreal Tournament are vertex animated. this is gonna be a long journey.

Been awhile since I saw someone use "vertex" here:
Creavion wrote: Sun Aug 26, 2012 1:04 pmSo it is indeed possible to EDIT animated vertex meshes without losing their existing animations. How it works however seems to be more or less a "insider secret".

I think i found some usefull tutorials after a long search.
Psk
http://www.milkshape3d.com/ms3d/tutorials/ut/

And a web archived site for psk and psa
https://web.archive.org/web/20041231020 ... art3.shtml

www.planetunreal.com/epicknights/tutori ... art3.shtml

Milkshape seems to have default UT skeletons inside wich you can just load there. I was searching for those everywhere for the last few months :)

Did you check UT2004 Tutorials? I think they apply to UT99 to some extent:

Since i can't find alot on this topic (i had to search alot) literly spent the last few weeks digging all corners of the internet/archives. I try to share every info/tutorial/tool i find for Modeling.
Maybe make a simple guide myself.
Seems Milkshape3d is the 1 of the most usefull tools but i have not included it because i think its not freeware.

I uploaded a folder with tools and tutorials.
I think the Polycount tutorial in the webpages folder i upload on google drive is the best most comprehensive tutorial yet but i have not read any of them completly myself yet because i was an a "searching spree"

I will add and reorganize the folder later.
Some tutorials are very old and use 3dsmax1 but max has not changed much :)

As of now its pretty incomplete exept the folder
PdfUT99_wepages is mostly complete.
Warning it has some very old tutorials. Maybe i add some youtube video tutorial links later.

Auto merged new post submitted 11 hours 52 minutes later
Its pretty complete as of now, maybe i add some stuff later. but this is pretty extensive considering its only about custom character creating.
