Mount

Post by plontotra44 »

Hi.
Has anyone ever heard of a server being mounted ?
The server was affected as a result.
I,d rather not say right now which server because the server was mounted by someone who is not an admin of that server, and it was done after getting the admins email from another player on the server.
ThankYou.

I know the term "mount" only for making a storage volume accessible.

Makes me wonder if the server is somehow accessible, and if its possible to be altered in some other way.Like the server would be listed in a virtual drive.
Its frustrating to think someone can mount a ut server, and alter a mod or two just by mounting the server, and not be sure whats really going on.Maybe they can do it anytime they want, and the effects will be the same or unknown.
The person that did it used the term mount, and its like he is the only one that has ever heard of doing this, and is also a computer programmer.
Thanks. :)

Are you sure that's the correct term?
Same as Barbie said, I know that term only for mounting a drive or USB stick.

Hi.
Its the term that i was told that was used, and the after effects were noticeable.
A mod was altered.
My assumption is that the person mounted the server like you can using power iso,and the server is mounted on his system like a virtual drive would be,and possibly listed in his windows explorer program where all the harddrives are listed.
Maybe its nothing to worry about, but except for the mod that was altered.
Thanks
