I tried searching the forum but apparently I can't search correctly.
How do you search this forum on a particular topic without getting all of the topics with one or more of your search words. In other words, when I search for "changing default team colors" I get every post that has 'changing' or 'team', or 'default' or 'colors', or any combination there of.
Why I ask is, I am looking for the way to change the team colors. I want one of the teams for CTF, TDM, DOM etc to always be green. WHAT and where in my .ini files would I make this change?
Thank you in advance,
Otto

Re: Quick Question about Default Team Colors
I dont think that is possible unless you make your own skin and make them green and call then blue,

Re: Quick Question about Default Team Colors
I don't think I'm understanding you, as there's already 4 team colors and one of them is green.Otto Kontroll wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 10:59 pmI want one of the teams for CTF, TDM, DOM etc to always be green
Albeit, there's some skins where the skinner only used 2 team colors... I learned how to skin to fix that.
But, if I were to guess, if you mean what I think wouldn't it be simpler to make the default skin green? That way you'd have all 4 team colors and when not using a team color the skin is normally green.

Maybe some of the Bot mutators can do this.Otto Kontroll wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 10:59 pm I tried searching the forum but apparently I can't search correctly.

I wanted somehow something similar for my CTF matches and unchecked bot random order ...that means the first bot gets on the opposing team and the second in your team, the third opponent, forth yours etc. that way I had my permanent team of bots and enemies.
Since I edited the bots already to be not default bots (custom skins and voices) I edited their stats to work together perfectly.

Re: Quick Question about Default Team Colors
This sounds like it can be done by subclassing the gametype and putting players on green team instead of blue. Some extra compatibility work might be needed.
For example on TDM if all players join gold and green team, there would only be gold an green team, but this needs coordination on players to join those teams specifically.

Re: Quick Question about Default Team Colors
I will try to explain myself - remember I am not the brightest bulb in the lamp LOL.
When I choose to play TDM, CTF, DOM etc it defaults to two teams, one Red and one Blue. My desire is to replace the default Blue with Green. For example, when we play CTF, I want it to automatically have a Green team and a Red team.

Re: Quick Question about Default Team Colors
Ah, then yes for that you'd need to have a skin customized for that, although given most skins already have all 4 team colors and both TDM & DOM allow for 4 teams you might want to go with a more greenish-blue as there's still a green team.Otto Kontroll wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 9:50 pmdefaults to two teams, one Red and one Blue. Unless you want the existing green switched with blue too.

Re: Quick Question about Default Team Colors
That is exactly what I want! A green team and a red team ONLY ! But it seems that is not possible. It's not so much about the skins but about team colors. With all the things that can be changed and modded/mutated in this awesome game, you would think we could choose our flag/base colors. But no worries, I just though I would ask.

Re: Quick Question about Default Team Colors
Actually it's very possible.
Contrary to the notion, a lot of skins don't require full team colors. Remember, I learned how to do team colors because a lot of the first skins only had 2 and not all 4.
For example, I give you the X-SE skin I'm still working on. An edit of an existing skin, I only gave it 3 team colors because it's default is already yellow. There's no need to give it all 4 when it's default already fits the coloring of a 4th.
Now, I think only doing two colors is limiting as in if you ever host games then it might confuse other players... but I can do it.
Did you have a particular skin in mind for this? Something you want to be edited with the limited range?

Re: Quick Question about Default Team Colors
I think a mutator is needed here and not some reskin of the blue team
