XV Gangrene Gulch and Raptor Alley

Post by jmartin »

These are 2 new maps made specifically for the X Vehicles mod. You will need X Vehicles version v69 or higher to play them.

Gangrene Gulch was made as a test map to determine certain parameters of the vehicles. How wide do the tunnels need to be to fit through, how steep of an incline can they climb. Can they use elevators, teleporters, etc.

Contains one of each vehicle. You can add extra vehicles in the editor by cut/pasting them from the build box on the right side of the main map. (See the ReadMe.txt file)

Raptor Alley is an aerial combat map for Raptors only.

If I could add 2 items to the wish list, it would be neat if the vehicles had a turbo-boost button that would give them an extra burst of acceleration for a short period of time. Then it would take 30 seconds to recharge the turbo-boost before you could use it again. If you hold down the turbo-boost too long it blows your engines (Galaxy Quest).

Also, if vehicles could repair themselves by picking up a health pack or "can of energy" something like that.

Thanks.

So "Gangrene Gulch" has a lot of open space, multiple levels, and stuff to hide behind... though it was hard to tell from bots playing as they largely kept to a straight line between the 2 bases.

Looks fun, may do another review after I've played it myself.

As to "Raptor Alley" I played Buggie's edit of it as he added pathing, which is necessary for any kind of vehicle.

The dogfights were intense!
