Hi all!
I need your help.
Im having this error 0xc00000005 when loading ut (with latest unofficial patch and high res textures from ahaigh and hd res textures weapons items installed (from lightning hunter i think it was his name or so...). I tried for do sfc scannow/dism commands even on windows 7 clean, windows 10 latest version clean all with microsoft visual c+++ libs and net framework installed.
I looked if it was/could be a hardware problem (4 sticks ram of 16 gb each, tested one by one, no error found. Hdd disk from 3, one of them has doubful healthy, so I remove it and place -one new 1tb ssd- issue is still there. reinstalled all my drivers. And even doing this in clean virtual machine with vmware this error pop ups like a punch on my face being the os win 7 or win 10 even windows 11).
Example while I am reviewing the downloaded new ut stuff from unrealarchive or from another site. I uncompress and then install all files (utx, umx, uax...) minus unr files on ut folder, I drag the unr file over ut shorcut many maps boots normally or without problem, but sometimes the ut.exe got corrupted throwing me a 0cx0000005.
Viewing this issue could repeat againg I made a portable copy of the ut folder and a backup compressed copy of ut folder. To see if error appears again, and in sometime the error came back corrupting again my ut.exe this time from a portable copied ut folder not from ut installed folder. Same results if I overwrite the entire system folder to main folder.
Also I tried install all maps in the standard way: copy all files manually including unr files. The frequency to get that error decreases but only two times happened forcing to shut down the game and reinstalling or copying the backup.
pd: AV enabled nothing abnormal nor virus detected. Disabled AV same result
Anyone can help me with this issue? I dont know how to solve this nightmare. Thanks in advance!

Re: unrealtournament.exe and damn 0cx0000005 error
It is generic error which mean memory access violation, which can be caused by thousand of various reasons. literally thousands.
So no way help you, unless you provide exact steps for reliable reproduce it.
If you able do so, please create issue on github and we will try fix that in new patch (if that not fixed yet).

Then iI open a ticket on github to post a link to view or download the video demo?Buggie wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 5:09 pm It is generic error which mean memory access violation, which can be caused by thousand of various reasons. literally thousands.

Re: unrealtournament.exe and damn 0cx0000005 error
We need minimal reproducible example.
Steps what you do, which reproduce error.
So we can reproduce it on our side.
With minimal reproducible example.
Which mean if download, then download less as possible.
For example instruction "go download 3 GB map pack and try this 100 maps until it not crash" - is bad one.
Specify one exact map with simple steps - good one.
As addition video can be good, but not instead of everything.
Also please ensure problem not caused by thousands installed and used mods and mutators.
Try reproduce it on clean install with minimal changes.
We not magicians, we can't read minds, so that why we need clear steps for reproduce on clear install.

Re: unrealtournament.exe and damn 0cx0000005 error
That may be also a hardware driver problem. My suggestions:
- Remove all hardware not needed.
- Run MEMTEST for some hours to be sure to have a valid RAM.
- Remove or replace graphic card.
- Shrink your OS partition and install a second OS parallel. If no error occurs anymore, your previous OS seems to be spoiled.
- Run an alternative OS installation by changing the mass storage and installing a fresh OS there. If no error occurs anymore, your previous mass storage seems to be spoiled.

1) only removed an usb 3.1 cardBarbie wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 12:14 pm That may be also a hardware driver problem. My suggestions:

2) 8 HOURS OF MEMTEST (2 Times) no error on ram ....
3) I have a nvidia quadro 4000 (yeah, its old. I hate double sozed graphics cards ). I dont have money to buy a good one for vmware and graphic/video edition (mainly for win 7 in one disk, or win 10 in another disk).
4) Oooof, lol, that's painful testing mode (consuming time, work...etc) Ill leave as a last chance. I still figuring out what the hell....thanks! ill keep this in mind.
5) its a possibility.... Thinking, still any of the remaining 3 disks did not give any issue.
Thanks for these suggestion mate!
As for Buggie, the more things you install, the more likely the game will corrupt or give me ut errors? mmmm

Depends.
But if you try narrow issue to real cause, you need remove all irrelevant stuff.
Yes, because some combination of thing can expose or trigger errors, which not appear on other conditions.
No, because normally count of mods or other things must not affect to game stability. At least to some point.
It can cause lags however.
But some mods not compatible between each.
And some mods coded in destructive way, which can break other mods.

I guess there is no compatibility chart between the mods that have been made to date with UT (and with the latest patch), isn`t?
It's hard to know if a mod are compatible or not with another mod.... Well I'll have to look into the subject.

No. Each modder do what consider appropriate by own rules.
However patch try to fit old behavior so usually compatible with all mods, unless opposite not stated directly in release notes.
Usually if something change between patches that consider as bug and subject for fix in next path.
