Auto-Lock Old Threads

I propose implementing some form of automated solution that locks a thread after (random number) 2 years without replies. This would save moderation work by preventing thread necromancy in the first place. It would potentially create different work, e.g. handling unlock requests, but maybe inverting this dynamic would make it more intuitive for new users.

We discussed this a few years ago and having all those locked threads would look strange.
Especially when it's a thread where the initial download link isn't working any more some nice member provide alternative sources and wouldn't be able to do so when they are locked.
Maybe some kind of warning for the poster that they are going to post in a very old thread where maybe non of the participants is any longer active here.

I'm against that. There may be new facts, changes or updates years later concerning a topic. Maybe a warning about an old topic would be enough.

We allow necrobumps for when there is an important update to the thread topic. We just don't want any random thread to get bumped just for a hello or something.

I propose implementing some form of incantation so when anyone replies to a thread that's been at least 2 years without replies... a hand appears, reaches out from the screen, and pokes them in the nose.
