Post by Hitman »

I have seen thousands of ut-maps and wonder what environment have not been made yet? It must been some we missed that can be made

Honestly, I don't know if there are any at this point. It seems to me that there've been UT maps made around every type of environment you can think of, like space stations, ancient temples, spaceships, et cetera.

Although, there is this map called DM-Abraxas (viewtopic.php?f=5&p=149957) that has a neoclassical and brutalist aesthetic and environment. Maybe that's it; there haven't been very many maps made, to my knowledge, that have the brutalist architectural style and environment.

Can't think of many/any : hospitals; public parks/formal gardens; swamps/wetlands; theatres/concert halls.

I have something,
However it still isn't a new environment, MH map that has an Earth canyon look and a blue sky, map is still pretty different, but still not a brand spanking new environment. (it's surreal).
Not done yet, it's really a lot of menial long work concentrating events--tags-counters, I made it halfway, the map is-was done for a while, but then I had to go crazy elaborating and making bots do stuff, or not, piles of actors and events and tags. I still have 3 other maps to finish, aaarg.

I just looked at that chart, and this map is definitely none of those,, has to be a Misc.

Totally underwater/submerged maps aren't really a thing. I can see why tho. I made some underwater maps that are waiting for release.
Another one I can thing about is like an editor-sized city with interiors etc or a proper forest with lots of adequately based trees and bushes etc.

Maybe a Minotaur's labyrinth. With robust editor and the higher end rigs today you could probably make something themed after this that had triggered walls that moved and changed the paths, all sorts of things.

I was thinking the same thing, :tu: except in a Sim City format, where the buildings are movers that change positions, the map "evolves" over time.

Always thought that PrinceOfFunky's "DOM-NRMC-Cathode" from the mapping contest was a totally whack environment.

Getting there, hope the "Environment" Fucking croaks.
I have been working on and (going to finish) that map all because of this thread, getting closer, seems like such a long way to go, but I added a lot, so many events and tags and counters and property flippers and creature factories and triggers to organize, actors all over the place.
I will make a thread soon. It is outside (but in a weird way), canyon-blue sky MH map.

i would say there are way to much dark themed maps and not enough sunny outdoor ones.
