I actually wouldn't want that to happen, although I wouldn't mind if that happenned. The story is good to play, but not for a movie, so they had to distort and invent lots of things, which in "Hollywood" generally have really bad results.
Also, even if you get enough voters, that won't ever happen based on votes, even reliable ones. They would only do that if they saw that as a good thing for business, and only if a team was willing to do so (imagine the tons of special effects needed from scratch).

Rule of thumb - movies based on games never turn out any good so let's leave it alone. There's already enough generic bollywood action films around and let's not ruin UT that way

That's right. Take for example the DooM movie, it didn't even have anything to do with the game itself!

I bet it could be a better solution to do a machinima of some kind though...

Considering the names of the players (and bots of course ), i think it is more like a making of unreal tournament. Like how the players from different countries met for the tourney etc.. I recon the same from a movie called tekken.. I really liked the movie although it had 50-50 opinions from public. Nyways, as everyone said, good luck for the project *MOVIE*..

1) Hire Actors
2) Buy Guns
3) Lock them in an industrial warehouse
4) Start recording the carnage

I'm assuming that the character would look like the Gina model (default model, and the main character was originally planned to be a female) and be left-handed (Gina model wields left-handed). The right director and studio would probably be able to turn Unreal into a movie rather easily, Unreal Tournament on the other hand no.

Oh please, DooM was one of those movies that turned out to be good. Of course, they had to change plot here and there but in general you could feel Doom atmosphere. IMHO that was a great movie.

But in general I have to agree. Movies that are based on games usually suck ( Max Payne anyone? )

Yeah, unfortunately it does. Bet Wahlberg would like to take that one back.

Urban was great in Doom and the audio was some of the best I've ever seen.

If they stayed true to the Nali visuals, and the Skaarj were done right and withthe right cast...who knows?

I don't exactly imagine how they'd write Unreal to the screen. It basically has no characters besides the 849 and the occasional odd nali here and there, with a sum total of 2 lines of text. "Batai d'va, Habouji" etc...
