Anyone else pissed about the new classification of YouTube?

Post by Feralidragon »

I mean, they changed the 5 stars classification to "I liked it" and "I didn't like it", which I find myself bad method because that way you don't know how good the video may be before hand.

But there's something that bothers me even more: everyone knows that there's a lot of people that place some really retarded if not very damn stupid videos with "fake" titles just to get views, but then now you don't know which videos are those!

If you go there now, there are no stars, classifications or anything else whatsoever to indicate if the video is worth watching, so basically if you're looking for a video, you don't know if that's the video you're looking for (from the classification hints) or just a plain retarded video. This way all I can see is that the retarded videos will get more views and satisfy the retarded ones more, higher the number of retarded video uploads, messing up the whole thing.

I think YouTube just f*cked up the whole thing, when they were doing extremelly good functionalities to date.

Anyone else agrees?

Hmm who knows.. if it would be one (possible because afaik the style change happened recently) it would be an awesome one^^

But we all might remember filefront in the last year.. it was just bad timing.

It sucks, I liked 5 star rating system much more, Like/Dislike system is too generic IMO.

Well, it seems that the new "hidden" classifications and the generic "I like it/I don't like it" are really to stay.
So all I have to say is: F*ck!

Actually I don't really care as long as I can watch the videos.
Whenever I see "you can't watch this video from your country" or similar stuff, I just can't stop myself shouting

^ The problem is not the classification itself, since I personally use videos just to show stuff in a forum or another website. The problem is when you search a video, and then you find one, then you have that little bar on your right with other sugested videos (which I use a lot), but from my experience half of the sugested videos are retarded ones which have nothing to do with their title or they simply suck, and you could know it before hand by their stars classification, and now you simply don't know anymore since they don't show any kind of evaluation alongside the videos.

This way I think this might promote the upload of more retarded videos, since they will get a ton of more views, and even with the "i don't like" classification, until you don't see the actual videos or comments to it, you don't know what to expect: the real thing you're looking for, or a retarded one. That's why I don't like the new classification.

Plus, you just have a very few set of videos with "most liked" in green, and when I say "very few", I mean 1 or 2 in each search, nothing more.
