Smoothing Groups.. actually in the meantime I got that to work. Was maybe not the best idea to test that out with a tree trunk. But its clearly visible now with more simple structures (which would be BSP normally).
Its an engine thing HERE, it has not ANYTHING to do with a 3D Model Program, since it does not make any difference here if you import an obj you created in a 3D Model programm or if you convert a brush structure to a Static Mesh, unlike UEngine 2 where it makes a difference. Yes in some terms the oldunreal uengine is way better as UEngine 2, unbelievable but true.

Anyway, thanks for the info.

Its only a matter of some hours or less days until its release. The last tasks needs to be finished. After that we have to see what happens regarding UT and Epic.

you can already check the release notes if you want.

The patch release should be only a matter of .. I know I said it already .. a matter of some less days at least. Sadly Smirf is not able to tell me how much time he still needs. I only know he has to prepare the installer atm, re-check the release notes and has to attach? anything with the linux stuff.

The thing that sounds the best personally for me is the new Editor.

I got a version as installer today (105 MB .. compared to UT 436: 5,37 MB ... little difference isnt it?), the final public release can be from now on only a matter of some less days, if nothing bad happens, I hope. I will make an announcement anyway then.

About ut99, seems that happens to me frequently when connecting to a server that require downloads, my ut freezes for a while, before the first download begin. This is a bit disturber.

If I posted is because I don't think so. Seems I didn't got the thread purpose. (I can't access the first link in order to get more info)

I thought it was a thread to give ideas and relate ut99 bugs, if a new patch would be somehow released.

WHO NOT. Next week hopefully if this all is finished we need to get Epics attention first to see what happens.
