Re: WIP: Dm-1on1-Alpha
Also, doublepost.
Also also, on a slightly related note, the skybox may not be as smooth as it looks.
I've got this result from a PC, i don't know it's configuration.
As far as i know, the skybox looks good on software render (&intel core2 duo), dx9 render (&AMD 1.8 ghz), opegl(intel core2 duo) render. Edit: Also tested whit nvidia and ati gpu, it always looks good...
I'd like to know if there is some setting that changes how lightmaps are handled by the engine.
Maybe some detail settings have to do whit it...

Re: WIP: Dm-1on1-Alpha
it's not as much a matter of what vendor as it is settings. There are many "image smoothing" settings that can be changed. If the pc's specs can't handle all on full throttle some can be turned off, and that will produce this image. You should set the textures to "high detail shadows" if not already set. That could smoothen the "cuts" a bit? Placing a dim lightsource closer to the textures often helps this too.

Re: BETA: Dm-1on1-Alpha
Well this was quite a fail.
I didn't get anyone from here to test it.
what a same... It looks like i need to go step by step in these forums to get something done.
Nevertheless, I've got some testing done and made the decisions I was uncertain about, regarding the map.
If anyone else wants to test this just bump me or this thread, ect.

Just a little clue: weekday = school, job and whatnot... Try it perhaps on the weekend or Friday night. Your map looks very damn good, so the problem is not the map itself or the forum, the thing is that you chose a bad day as a test day, that's all.

Re: BETA: Dm-1on1-Alpha
You need people on an IM program, something like xfire (widely used amongst gamers) or steam or worst case scenario - msn. If you hit me up on those I'd probably be willing to DM it out with you any time I'm on. Otherwise I just check this forum once or twice a day - I only visit the mapping section (at the moment), and it's not particularly active.Myth wrote:Well this was quite a fail.

Meh, UT IRC was fun years ago. At least, the SLV channel - #utslv died a while ago.Myth wrote:real men idle on the IRC

Seriously, if you're even a little bit into online gaming you might want to get something like xfire - its pretty damn useful.

Re: BETA: Dm-1on1-Alpha
Shade was supposed to be post an introduction about what IRC and that this webzone actually has an official IRC channel on quakenet.
The only problem is that it's mostly inactive because the lack of people on the channel.
