MonsterHunt2 Gold

Just wanted to ask anyone if they might be interested in helping with an update to MonsterHunt2. The mod runs well but like any larger-scale modification it has some rough edges. If you'd consider adding your expertise to the project I'm gauging overall interest by opening a (no registration needed) forum section here:
http://www.gopostals.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=23

If I can get a couple of (very) part-time helpers I'd be happy to dig into the mod and address the concerns that have been voiced. There's a short-list of desired skillsets at the forum, so if you have a bit of free time and you enjoy MH I'd very much appreciate your input.

B) A photoshop guy. Someone that can make logos and such and knows how to ready them for mod import. It's the same as including them into a mylevel texture in a map so if you can do that you are good to go. Craftsmanship matters here so step up only if you can do good work. Every player will see your work all the time so it has to be damn good.
hmmm....?

What exactly do you need ...Textures too?

To be honest my logo work sucked. I thought no one would actually use them and that adding clan logos and such would be the norm. They were bland and (I thought) destined to be replaced. The truth is almost no one altered any of them and they run now on multiple servers. Someone with real skill could redo the work in an afternoon and vastly improve the visuals of the mod.

The big fixes would be the scoreboard header (OMG it's bad, really really bad), the small tile you have on the playing HUD, a small repeating tile on the redeemer HUD, and the background to the server Top Ten. There is other texture work like some custom relics and such but those four would be the ones that really need redone. I have no particular theme in mind, it's an empty canvas. I'd only like for them all to fit together in whatever style was chosen. I'm certainly no artist and this part of the mod shows that badly.

Here you can see what I mean:

Ok you need a new uber cool logo for your score board and game in general.
Got it!
Further you need what textures exactly?
Can you show me other screen shots... or where can I download this Mod ....so I can join your server and see for my self what you are talking about.

The moddb link you were looking at is the "official" download. Just click on the Download tab.

I have a demo server here:
206.51.238.106:2222
that is running vanilla MH2 and nothing else. You are welcome to look around as you like, PM me if you want admin access to summon things like redeemers to look at those HUDs, etc.

ModDB has horrible menus. Don't feel badly.

Included in the mod is all the source code so you can see the textures without decompiling anything. Not all of the textures were used, some were included to give admins some choices but in the end no one used any of them to personalize the mod at all. That's why getting it right for the default setup is so important.

Here a quick Idea for a new Logo/Icon ... in pictogram style.

See, I can't do anything like that. Something of that nature will translate well into HUD work, nice sharp lines and bright colors. The down side I see is that it needs to scale down in size to a HUD tile, and some reworking will have to be done for that. Lots of players still use 1024X768 so the tile itself will be fairly small.

Here's an example tile that is the imported size:

No problem ... I made it suitable for every size.
Why it is made as pictogram and the PSD itself is build in vector-mask ... resize is possible without quality loss! ;)

Oh and the attachment-system didn't show the transparent part.

Ah, nice! This is why I ask for help and I'm a lucky guy you chose to knock around with it. Are you happy with that as a theme/style?

Oh, one thing. This may sound niggling but can you swap the color assignments (red for blue)? In MH players are always on red team and people will notice that.
