Skin I've been putting off for awhile, what I'd initially intended to use for my Skinning Contest, is uniform from The Orville.

Just about ready for it now.

Male Soldier & Female Soldier do not totally align, but they're remarkably close.

These 2 I got from Skin City.

I might be able to improve on these just a bit, certainly do something better than that first one.
Got a decent transparency, now selecting faces to put in there.

The "complex textures" issue I was having with Skinmaker has been corrected, apparently all I needed was the most recent version.

Not that this skin is complete, belt needs some work... why is it always the belt which gives me the most problems?

Need to darken the gauntlets and shoulder bits to match the boots and belt.

Yeah, there's a belt... going to make it more noticeable.

This below is the "Russian Commander" skin, which is not one of mine but it's something I've been toying with using as a base for a truly evil thing... that I may never start.

On its own it's a good skin, though it has no team colors.

ie: the evil WW2 bad guys from Germany that nobody likes.

I discussed this with paperCoffee a stretch back, saying the distinctive arm band of the evil thingies I'd swap out the symbol which is in there with an unhappy smiley face or a cranky smiley face.

Mostly opting for basic designs from...

...the original Wolfenstein game.

But realistically, I may never do it for a variety of reasons.

One of my fave skins back in the day was "Dust".

That'd be this · https://unrealarchive.org/skins/unreal- ... 42eb7.html

It's a little surreal looking and also quite eloquent. I had in mind a skinning thought for it but mainly to give it better team colors...

...as the original skinner kinda lowgraded it to the upper torso and excessively upped the staturation.

I've a headpiece for a Jaffa, was thinking something Stargate SG-1 themed, which is what made me think of this.

Given the background of the skin, under the gold, is deep gray my thought was I can probably do better team coloring all over using tint-edits, as those will only effect the gold parts and not the gray.

Like so.

Yeah - though I've got hundreds of skins I didn't have Dust, which is odd - looks good. Await your edit with interest as always :tu:

Only delay is trying to figure out what to do with the arms, as arms don't have team colors but that same pattern as on the rest of the skin is on them too.

Just as I used to with maps, I work on multiple skinning projects at the same time.

The "Retro" skin for the Male Soldier is on UA · https://unrealarchive.org/skins/unreal- ... 091e5.html · but it has no team colors.

It's also in the "Beta skins for PS2 characters" · https://ut99.org/viewtopic.php?t=4477 · but it's part of a package, not individualized... though it does have team colors.

Thinking of individualizing it so it can stand on it's own, taking the textures from the team colored one for the one without.

I like on this Beta skin that it can easily use all the textures from male soldier and other male skins like the corrupt.
