Started as an experimental map to see how sketchup-made geometries mixes with unreal's space partitioning.
Turned out, as long as you keep those vertices on grid, complicated geometry made less trouble than expected.
The theme was mostly inspired by Half-life and Portal2.

I wanted to create some mixture of nature and a decaying industrial complex, just like those scenes in the two nice game mentioned above.

Due to the heavy geometry and all the processortime consuming kitch, looking around at the top of the waterfall may be laggy

MMMMM.
I love these kind of maps :tu:
If there are no birds, insects or animals, I may well be making my own remix/edit (part of my learning and experimenting).

I like these sorts of maps for the TWT_Zombies variations, as they are quite often standing in front of you on the other side of a tree/bush.
Playing maps like this with the Infiltration mod, also allow you to destroy the trees and scenery.

Brilliant work.

Only pity I have that most of the awesome looking maps nowadays are DM maps. I would love to see a CTF map in this style, but ofcourse also with decent gameplay (mostly the size is the probleme here, most of them are to big and complex).

Enjoyed this map immensely last night.
The lighting and shadows are simply beautiful :tu:
Lovely flowers and textures.

I have more birds (and butterflys), of different types in mine already though! :lol2: Lots of crows circling the tower at the top of the map look great :mrgreen:
Can't get birds to fly over the big falls (near the ship) area though :cry:

This is also a blast with the Zombies5 mutator running.
I can also recommend the portal-gun with this map. hehe.

A lot of unique fresh ideas, no buggy skybox, perfo seems to work fine, good and logical use of meshes, interesting map concept.

However, I think the lighting is somehow boring, but well.. still ok. But overall the map is really not bad. :thuup:
The upper posted screenshots somehow gave a me wrong impression about the map, before I checked it out on my own.

I was also expecting more trees and foliage etc., but it does make very nice background scenery.

Hmmm, I think the lighting is kinda "real" and not exaggerated, which is maybe why it is odd for your average Unreal map.
There is a slightly "washed-out" feel, but I think that is the white lighting ? (don't people usually add a bit of colour to their lighting?)
I think if you play Counter Strike of Infiltration etc, this map will look more correct.

A tutorial on the building of a map like this would be great, to go with Creavion's Kamah tutorial :wink:

Must say Good Job! Didn't expected it to be this big, I think a few more pics would give a better impression for this already great map or a video preview would be even nicer.

agree at some places the light could use a bit more color
