At gandi.net you can choose the location (Europe, US, etc) you want to have your server / webspace at.

Indeed I have also noticed that even though we are using SSL, the whole site feels faster.

Hmmm, I just noticed that since Web of Trust cleared lots of the old comments, we have not reclaimed any new ones

Thankfully we kept our healthy green rating, but it would be nice to see a few comments from the members
You should not have any excuse not to, because anyone using a browser without WoT plugin or similar, is fooling them-self and should add that protection ASAP.

Sometime WOT rating on some site try to prevent me to join a site or something and some website that are good was giving inaccurate rating so I quit using WOT plugin on my browser years ago. Probably back in 2009.

Yeah community/wiki style resources suffer the same problems. The abuse of the system is why they wiped the comments and made it more involved to rate a site properly. Ratings without a comment now also rank lower.
Using the default mode, when it blocks you however it does offer 3 options and one on them is to ignore the block and visit anyway.
It should not stop access to a site completely (perhaps in the most strict mode).

The system relies on people that know and trust a site to write a comment saying why the red circle is wrong.
Maybe look at it this way,
If angry idiots dislike your site or your friends site, they definitely will use a free browser tool to rate the site badly.
The only cure for that, is the friends of the site add more positive votes than negative, and get the admin to add a WoT key to their site.
By helping get rid of the problem for yourself, you also get rid of it for everyone else 8)

I use it predominantly to report bad sites, rather than protect myself, but it is still the first plugin I install on any new browser, and makes me very aware of how important it is never to trust the paid for results at the top of search engines.

Has any one else noticed how much higher we are in google results since going to HTTPS ?
I have noticed that we now outrank posts of the same topic, even when ours are only 1 day old, and the others have existed for years.

We are true leaders in this area, thanks to the wise investment by Shade.

I've noticed, possibly even before that, that from my contributing to Skaarj themed stuff here that anytime I do a google-image search on Skaarj mostly my own stuff pops up in results.
