windows 10 sound problem

fmod and al audio has problems with the sound configuration on windows 10 technical preview evaluation copy build 99 26.

For the rest everything works fine for me just did yesterday a upgrade from windows 8.1 to windows 10.
If i choose to go back to windows 8.1 i just can simply make a rollback config wich is new in windows 10 with this new build.
So i did set unreal tournament audio config back to galaxy sound system, The only fault what ut 99 gives is the older general protection fault,
wich is normal by the galaxy sound system config in ut 99.
The galaxy sound system gives simulair fault,s as in windows 8.1.
fault apear only when you quit when ut 99 shuts down.
Il hope there will be more windows 10 drivers in the future, i have to solve driver mall function with windows 8.1 drivers.
So good job microsoft you did made a proper windows 10 version.

stick to Windows 7 Ultimate for the next 2 years or so.

I'm also running W10 and have the same problems. I don't mind it too much though, just an error every time I quit UT. Wises, you better upgrade within one year of it coming out (whenever that happens) - that way it will be free for you. If you wait longer than that, you will have to pay for it.

thanks for the heads up :) also soz for OT. Someone may have a solution for you guys.

@rjmno1 perhaps change the headding from Windows 10 to "Windows 10 - Sound issues"

I did comment on there forums here: https://windows.uservoice.com/forums/26 ... sb-support
as thats one issue I really hate about windows in general.

they may hear one day ;)

Free for a year. This of course depends on one having a 'real' Win 7 license. ;)

I hope that Win10 is more compelling than Win8 regarding gaming. Win8 wasn't much better - and only in certain games - than Win 7. They are talking about improved boot times, but with an SSD, those are pretty darn short already. I am online within 15 seconds from a cold boot as it stands so they are going to have to find something more impressive than that.

sound problem.
Btw i did allready did a windows 8 rollback, the whole windows 10 freezes after a night online idle.
problem again solved windows 8.1 back online again.

Btw windows 7 and windows 8 are very good os,s to install.
Had a few years another computer wich where windows 7 installed never had any problems with the version of windows.
No it just was a tryout for ut 99 also. And ones again just like win 7 and 8 they did a great job.
But sadly there are no drivers for windows 10 yet, so i did bounce back to windows 8.1, i still have to install the fmod sound for ut 99 again causing problems and after some trouble shooting with windows 10.The galaxy sound did the trick but of course having a protected fault again when shutdown ut 99.
We all still have to waith till windows 10 comes official on the market withing a few years.

10 isn't even official yet I would wait a LONG time before even using it as my main OS.. 8.1 is a fine OS with www.classicshell.net installed .

Just installed Windows 10 and googled the general protection fault error and found this thread. It's kind of annoying exiting the game and seeing that, but it's not that big a deal I guess. One other thing I noticed with Windows 10 is last second fps is higher than avg fps which seem strange.

I have zero sound errors check your drivers. Are you using the generic windows sound driver or driver from your manufacturer? Are you fully windows patched as well?

If you have a fresh Win10 then you don't have full DirectX support for below DX10.
You need to use the final full DirectX 9 installer on the MS site.

Try newer renderers, both video and audio, and both available from OldUnreal
