Devilfish Redone

Not sure if this is the correct place for this post. If not I'm sure Papercoffee will save the day! :mrgreen:

I'm building a map and I customized the Devilfish. I made it look more like a shark.

The Devilfish texture is only 128x128px and it uses only about half of the tile so technically it is only 128x64 :confused2: .

Sooooo... the Devilfish came out extremely low res...

This is the final Wireframe (which took forever despite being low res):

I made it on a layered .PNG. I can make it available for mapping if anyone expresses interest. :agree1:

The black is the Gills, on both sides. Chamberly is working on a special addition for this map, so the black area is reserved space for if she is successful. If not the gills will be changed to match the rest. :thuup:

I've only ever seen 2 skin edits for the DevilFish, yours above there and another that also makes it look like a shark I used in a map edit recently.

Well, I did something with this tonight.
They don't have frickin laser beams on their frickin heads yet, but that is next.

These fish fly....

Will include a separate version with the final release that will be an actual devilfish, but with the skin options
added.

Sorry it took so long for me to look at this. I got sidetracked a bit by real life and unreal physics.

If anybody has any more cool DevilFish, Shark, Carp, Guppy etc skins, this would be a good time to post them.
Even a Sea Bass skin would be cool. I promise to make it ill-tempered.

This is getting much closer to being done. Got a test version on my DOM server now.

Nobody got any more fish skins done yet?

Here are a couple of screenshots from online testing:

Note shot 1 there shows the current "glitch" with the laser if it is shining right in your eyes.
This does not occur a lot in play as I have the sharks aiming a bit lower. (But they have poor aim by design....)

Shot 2 shows off the spark effect when the laser hits something, and also the scorch marks it will leave behind.

Release will probably contain a 2nd version for U1/227 that will be exactly the same as the UT99 version, except for
the scorchmarks.

I told medor about this on his forum the other day, he downloaded it from here but said what he got doesn't shoot lasers.

I haven't tried it yet... what's up with what medor got?

Well the last public release of these does not shoot lasers.
It was just flying Devilfish with new skins basically.

There is a non-released version of them running on my servers that do shoot a laser.
But don't bother ripping that out of your cache as there will be a much improved public
release soon. (Very soon I think.... Tweaking of the laser itself is almost done.)

These do have lasers. Will release a U1 version of it in a few days.

Note these will NOT stay in the water.
Plan on a separate version (FrickinFish) that will be actual Devilfish.
