Re: Mapping Contest Theme Discussion

Quick question, the 4096uu limit, is this just to make sure people don't go crazy with map size?

Could we go bigger for visual effects as long as we keep a 4096uu play area?

I've got an idea based on a small island, but would need a larger non play area for blending into the skyzone!

Re: I'm working on a layout for a forest map, I may need adv

I Most of the terrain in Kamah is small, steeped sided ravines or gullies so that views along them, and upwards and outwards, are very limited. Larger clearing-type areas are used sparingly. The overall ambiance of Kamah is, of course, tropical but the general approach to the design and layout of t...

Re: Bot Pathing - default Mover

I'm a visual person, so this style diagram is more helpful
than a text explanation (would have been helpful 15 years ago when I was learning ued!)

Pretty sure that's how I path lifts :tu:

Don't forget z axis, maybe add cliffs/mountains? Have your paths cross, maybe using a bridge, tunnel, waterfall, rivers etc. Try and build your areas at different levels so the map doesn't feel flat. I always try and have 3-4 exits from each room/area in a DM map at least one should be z axis (drop/...

Re: Mapping Contest Theme Discussion

I'm pretty limited for time, but will try and make something. Setting size limits uu or KB sounds good to me!

I like the idea of a small pit/arena style map.

Re: The 3072uu Mapping Contest

I'd be tempted, but perhaps add the additional limitation/challenge of a 64x64 grid as was suggested earlier in this thread :satan:

Re: A hole in the roof!

For the hole just make a jagged hole shape with the 2d shape editor and subtract it from the ceiling, subtract a cube above it (with all faces set as backdrop, so it looks like sky above) For Snow? The simplest way would be a few vertical sheets with a panning masked falling snow texture. But that w...
