Always nice to use ut99 to inspire UT4 · https://forums.unrealtournament.com/sho ... -only-flag

On the topic of UT4 I have decided to run a PreAlpha server. "[HoF] House of Fools - hofgamingclan.com" is the name. We'll be hosting DeathMatch for the time being. Enjoy!!!

Interesting thread on comparing the various UT-games, from a fan of the original ut99:

Nice video. UT4 has a long way to go for sure. I need to reset the server every day because the master server aka "MCP" isn't always reliable communicating with my server. Might need to have a service like firedeamon reset the server every 12 hours.

Oh no no no ...never wake the dogs. You will get real complains there I'm certain.EvilGrins wrote:Anybody else wanna get in on http://tinyurl.com/z6u2aay that?
Many people there think that UT should be a better CODpiece or Baffle Field.
I mean they discussing to limit DM to 4 or 6 people on a map ...because more than 10 is too much and would be spamy.

Some of the discussions there are non-sense
This UT4 did only one good thing to me: picking up old UT99 disc again and putting it inside my PC

Re: Epic: Future of Unreal Tournament [UT4]
I read that topic for UT4. Some guys there are pretty aggressive toward old UT99 players. New blood can only deal with that way after all, last time all games must be very 0 skill friendly + conclusion "if I would be Epic I wouldn't even look at you". Cough so opinion of an old player has 0 importance... Anyone which wants to feel UT4 like an improved UT99 doesn't have many chances in debates there. And now my conclusions: I'll play UT99 until I'll be the last person playing it, and then I'll switch to another things as long as an improved thing should be tweaked for quality not really changed to bug old people, or adding useless content. In fact I think I respect their desire for changes, aiming probably to make any import from UT4 to UT99 less compatible as possible, so to speak UT99 must be capped as it is - So future of Unreal Tournament won't be UT4 - will be a different thing. They convinced me to not subscribe/download any UT4.
IF I would be admin, now I feel like I would remove this topic.

The whole thing is about modeling, buying resources like static meshes and selling meshes, UDK, programing, unreal engine, types of games, lighting, effects. on and on
