Don't forget to edit your registry.
Registry cleaner, Registry Compator, and cleaning tools like webroot window washer will help you get the most from your current system. Also editing the system files can help.

I guess this belongs more under system maintenance area, but sure - it's a thing you might want to do for optimized system performanceXen0Gears wrote:

Re: TUTORIAL: Tweak your UT graphics to the maximum
hmm, I went through with this last week using the Direct3D one. But when i went on UT after I did it everything was wierd, the graphics were a little better but patchy and the flags didnt move and the people didnt move their arms and legs and stuff, they just glided across the floor. Also on some servers and maps I couldnt see who was typing what and it wouldn't let me spawn. This only started to happen after I used this guide.

Re: TUTORIAL: Tweak your UT graphics to the maximum
Something ain't definitely right, gliding players is usally caused by inproperly configured servers (look more about this here: http://www.ut99.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=843 ), but flags not moving..? Does other particle effects and animations work? Try with OpenGL and see if it makes any change. Also what kind of textures are you using - standard Epic S3TC from CD2 or UTRP ones? Posting your computer specs won't hurt either.

It happens on most servers though and most maps.
I have re-installed UT now so I can't give anymore information. I used to S3TC High Textures.
Lol I dont know anything about my computer spec sorry. I'm bad at this sort of thing.

Could you try with Epic S3TC (from UT CD2) textures and see how this works out.

Disable S3TC textures (set UseS3TC=False) and see if gliding player effect dissappears.
