Vote for the '21 mapping contest theme/restriction!

Post by UnrealGGecko »

Greetings everyone!

We need your help to get the next contest underway. We've been brainstorming ideas of what we should go for this year, but just couldn't fully agree on it. Please vote for what theme or restriction we should go for this year, we want to see as many mappers to participate as we can :tu:

The poll will be active for 3 days. With up to 2 options, and you may change vote.

I've been very busy lately, but I'll be glad to be part of this contest. :tu:

Back when UTskins site was still up, they said the colors used hardly ever in skins were orange, purple, and pink.

So, howabout maps that used one or all of those 3?

No Rules will obviously be the obvious winner, lol! (Picked that one and Destructible/Interactable).

For a thematic mapping contest I would have liked to pick the theme of Tutorial level, how well can mappers introduce a new player to FPS and UT's mechanics.

No rules sounds the best out of those. The second choice for me is dragons, but color theme is a very close third. Destructible stuff sounds cool, but I think that might sound complicated to some, and be a bit of a barrier to entry.

Ha! I plan on holding on to that for a while, but I do have version 1 of the ripper sitting around collecting dust... I'd rather give it to someone than throw it out, but I don't know how I'd want to organize a giveaway.

I was only against a no rules theme because we kinda already did back to back no rules contests already (AMC in 2018 and 20AC in 2019), yes we had the skinning contest last year, but still. If there's demand, so be it :P

Still working on that :P
