Time for a update!

Very happy with the activity the server still has, with even some Sunday and midweek games going on.
Even though lots has happened, UT99 continues to flourish!

Big thanks to all the players who have dropped by and still continue to drop by on the Fridays!
Without the players, nothing would've bin where things are for FFN!

FFN is already over 5 years old officially.
Time flies insanely fast people, enjoy every day of it!

Just a little nudge here that we are still fully operational, and stronger than ever!
Last Friday we had a peak of 20 players simultaneously!
We try to keep the experience as fresh as possible with the frequent additions of new maps, with also recent ports from UT4!

Over the years we have formed quite the community with mappers, coders, and lots of more creative folks.
Something I would've never dreamed of, I clearly remember the days when I was fiddling with the server and thinking "oh, this could be a nice LAN server for once", never realizing FFN became what it is today!

A BIG THANK YOU, to all the recurring players and also the new people that we see every Friday!
WIthout YOU folks we would never had the luxury to play any gametype we want, every weekend!
Also a big thank you UT99.org forum and discord of course for all the publicity!

Since the news came out that the game is free to download, Streamers here and there are picking it up!
FFN had the luck of one joining with 2.35 million followers on Youtube!
His name is StoneMountain64 and mostly known for Call of Duty streams.

Still fraggin' in 2026!

The server has seen quite some popularity over the last weeks.
Last Friday we were at maxed out playerslots 32/32 for quite some time!

One of the reasons is the site https://gamedate.org/
The site has bin created as a initiative to Discord and to easily find players for online games.

We dusted up and fine-tuned the 2k4 server as well to get some Saturday games going! (https://gamedate.org/s/0g2j4q2s3)

Hi everyone! It's 2026 summer and the games are still going strong and are gathering for games every Friday as usual.

But here is some of the recent changes past months:
- We have an updated mapvote with map search! Running ~1000 maps and ~100 game modes!
- Recently added TDM4 as a new gametype! That's team deathmatch with 4 teams.
- You can play against bots with voteable PVE modes! (!ab 4 or !addbots 4 to add more bots !bs 7 to adjust bot skill to Godlike !killbots 4 or !kb 4 to remove them)
- We're adjusting the server to fix bugs, apply balance changes, adding new maps, fixing maps with bugs. Most of the discussion is happening on discord if you want to participate. And we also have a UT2k4 server and we're gathering on Saturdays.

It's not as populated as UT99 but right now on UT2k4 most players joining are all beginners learning the game so it's a good time to join if you ever wanted to see how UT2k4 plays online but didn't get to do so yet. I'm also re-learning how to play UT2k4 as feels quite different than what I'm used to.

Recently added Invasion and Team Death-match game modes. We had some good ONS, BombingRun matches and recently we're trying to beat the Invasion waves but we usually get stomped by the 2nd or 3rd wave of skaarj attack.

Servers are up 24/7 as usual but I'd recommend joining on event as that's when there are enough players for any of the gametypes.

Big thanks goes out the community of mappers, modders, maintainers and players that makes this possible!
