Solid? You mean, 'cause your last map was a destructible one?

Hehehe, now that is a nice pun!

I'm not sure if I will join this time around, it would depend on how I'm feeling at that time.

As for the snow theme, It's not really something I find all that appealing, that said I don't have a suggestion for something else either.

With da UScript & Blender Powas, I can do realistic snow and a nice terrain/sky for you!

I've never entered mapping contests. So how's this done and organized?.

I might enter, for fun. I have no intention to win anything whatsoever.

We can choose something else ...something like a micro-map? Not the map is micro (file size or Unreal units) I mean something like the infamous room sniper maps but instead is everything placed on the top of a beer can/bottle. The player is as big as ants.
Or city theme with lots of cool stuff ... Wait that's something FnB would win easily.
I don't know ... something spooky?

Usually the staff crew organizes this event and come up with a voting system.

Why don't you, step-by-step:
  • Get and learn Blender;
  • Model a terrain in it, with whatever techniques you know.
  • Install the addon Blender2Brush 1999! with the options for subtractive brushes etc.
  • Use the settings to copy the result to clipboard.
  • Finally use Ctrl+V in UnrealEd to paste your subtractive terrain and then work in it! :D
This will make terrain easy. You can also export brushes of any other models you want to do in Blender! :D
Just a friendly tip. :)

I will happily screenshot and test them like crazy.

Mild recommend, give a week longer than the usual timetable. Almost every time there's always a couple mappers insisting they need just 1 more week.

Let's just shove that extra week into the event!

That's retarded. They need one more week because they messed up. If you give them one more week from the start, they'll still need one more and you'll still have people who need just a few days.
On the contrary, rules are rules, after midnight of the last day everything goes to the "forfeit" pile.
You must construct additional pylons.

I'll put a Korean edition big box UT and/or the official Unreal strategy guide up for a prize. :)

What's the usual time limit? I'm all for doing a snow theme. Maybe snow/ice/wintery a bit more open ended. Will there be a set game mode? Dm ctf etc?
