I do, usually listed as "made by" for who originated the map with "edited by" myself and sometimes Nelsona if he added pathing.

Although, that thing circles in my last upload was a skin not a map.

For non-map content, the scanning process attempts to figure out authors from attached text files like READMEs, by looking for wording like "Author: Bob" or "Created by Bill", so it'll make an attempt as assigning an author if there's nothing better to go on.

It's not always accurate but provides a bit of a last-resort fallback.

I have some ideas to make the process better, bit for the moment, just include a README or something, with one line saying "Author: Me" and it should work fine.

There is one confusing thing.

Those numbers, 1,2,3,4 etc

It blends in and don't realize it's the next page.
You should put "PAGE" in front of those.

Hell of a job man !

I'm not sure specifically which page(s) or section you're referring to - can you either post a link to or a screenshot of the area that's troubling you, and I'll see if I can improve it.

OK cool, I will see if there's a better way of making the navigation clearer and more obvious.

Thank you to whomever just submitted nearly 100 new things over the last 2 days. I was especially shocked and grateful to see my first (terrible!) maps dating back to Feb 2000 - I thought all these things were lost in time!

Now there is no other pages, only one page of A's one page of everything, I know there is more than one scroll page of all the letters.

Using firefox-win7 pro64

There is no place to see "goto "NEXT" page" or "Page 1,2,3,4"

Back into my usual obsessive need to credit folks, ran into a bit of a problem.

Found a bunch of maps by a mapper named "Pornstar" · https://unrealarchive.org/search/index.html?q=pornstar

They're decent maps but they've got porn pics plastered all over the place. Much as I love porn, I don't feel it should be heavily mixed into UT... so I've been censoring them, editing them, and cleaning them up.

Now we come to the crediting issue, it turns out that Pornstar isn't so big into crediting other mappers. While I can't speak to all of them, most of the maps he porn-i-fied are maps I recognize because I've got an insane number of maps... but he deleted all the info about who made them and replaced it with his own info. He even changed the names of the maps; some of them are the default maps that came with UT but a lot of them are maps that other mappers have made in all the years since 1999.

I'm currently "crediting" this mapping thief but beyond that, I'm at a loss.

Frankly I likely wouldn't bother but there's a lot of really decent maps he's porn-i-fied that i want to keep... after I remove most of the porn.

For example, this is a fix I've done. I opted to replace the porn with hot demons.

Sent a PM to Shrimp on this, as he's got an issue with people filling maps with porn too, or using highly offensive map names. What he chooses to do with the info on this guy I supplied is up to him.

I don't mind the content of maps being less than classy, but unfortunately I don't want the Unreal Archive being flagged and down-listed in search engines and things, and potentially by networks/ISPs/governments, for not displaying appropriate age warnings. As such I'd prefer to just remove the screenshots, since they're displayed front-and-centre on the map information pages.

If someone wants to download them and look at 256x256 porn within UT, that's fine with me, but unfortunately I can't risk the images on the site.

It's been a fun little project censoring and replacing images, which I'll likely list in a mappack or something when done. At least for the maps I didn't already have the originals of.

Just bugs me that other guy deleted the original mappers' names and stuff, as I can't credit them in my fixes.

Btw, i saw some of my maps there, first, nice, secondly, about the sky texture, if i am not mistaken, that one is a default texture of UT99
