Howdy, From Texas!

Post by Zyri Blackwood »

Hello, My Name is Caroline. I Have played UT99 Back when I was around 13 or 14 years old, UT99 was rather big with my friends.

They hosted LAN parties and I was invited to a few times. This was around 2006-2007. Skip to 2021, and here I am buying the game on steam, for the first time I actually own the game and I just can't stop playing. I am In love with this game! MONSTER KILL! YEP, That's the sound I remember! Now here I am joining this here community to learn all I can about the game, making up for lost time!

I'm excited to see what all I can learn and what has passed the test of time.

I Have an aspiration of making Music, writing stories, and creating universes. A curiosity in physics, and philosophy, and technology. I watch a hell of a lot of tv shows, movies and read mostly Heroic comics, or Sci-fi.
I lean to the Sci-Fy section when it comes to fiction, Fantasy is 2nd but also close to heart everyone's gotta D&D once in their life right? I mean twice... three. Let's play again!

I'm a bit of a gamer, tho that has lately slowly become a 2ndary hobby.

Speaking of movies! I love horror, animation, comedies, and action. My favorite always seems to be Thriller when it comes to movies but serialized dramas when it comes to tv shows.

Don't even get me started on Star Trek. Live Long And Prosper!

I'm Extremely Friendly and extroverted so expect replies where ever possible.

That being said if missed anything, bring on the questions!

And thanks for having me here!

Welcome to the forums Caroline!
Good seeing you making up for lost time!
There are still great communities around, a lot are on Discord as well these days for the smaller chit-chatter.

If you run the Steam version, make sure you apply the new 469b patch that will even give you more servers and players on the game.

Have fun looking and fragging around!

Excuse me? Wait have I been missing out! I've been playing for a week and have basically been playing single-player. I'm on the path to making a server on my own I've been having so much fun with it.

Thanks for the info!

Oh yes for sure!
There is still multiplayer around!
We host an weekly event as well which is still doing good :)
The given patch is also for servers indeed, good luck on the setup!

And let us know if you run into any other issues :)

Star Trek, eh? If you are a fan of ST:Voyager you may find these two maps amusing:

Yes Zyri, I recommend FNB's maps, they're pretty awesome. :tu:
Hmmm...for some strange reason I have not tried the Trek maps. I may download them tonight.

Now THAT is awesome, TOS is my all-time favorite, but I love them all.

That's what I'm hoping for! I remember this game fondly, and playing recently not for 1 hour has me hooked. I forgot how much I enjoyed these Kinds of games. a Timeless classic for sure!
