Re: Map Vote Extended - MVE2f-v1
Very Nice,
hey deepu since you're helping again it could help to increase the amount of rules, I have some suggestions I don't know if it would be possible..
an upscaling option to be able to choose between 3 different sizes.
whenever you vote a map on the next map it opens the last voted rule

Hi @[rev]rato.skt
Sorry for the late reply. I've been busy with life and other things between my last post and this one.
I'm working towards the MVE2g release. It will have server idle state tracking and switch to random or default map on idle + server info page. Plus there will be some tweaks here and there but nothing too major. More details on release date. It's currently in testing but still working on server side fixes. Everything released here is battle tested on a loaded server to provide a baseline standard of quality.

I will test and try to include a fix for the MVE2g release.[rev]rato.skt wrote: βMon May 01, 2023 8:41 pm Hey man,

I have this request already noted and on my radar. I've been meaning to implement this for a long time now to simplify voting experience. Can't promise anything right now since fixing broken stuff is higher priority. But I will try to get it ready for MVE2h release.β β[rev]rato.skt wrote: βMon Apr 24, 2023 2:54 pm Hi man,

I only notice these today. Sorry. But judging by the screenshot it's a good change. The client changes are locked down for next version as it already in live testing. But I will inspect merge them for MVE2h

Re: Map Vote Extended - MVE2f-v1
Thanks! I use it even in single player and testing other mutators. It's better experience than "start practice session"
I have tested NewCTF v17 it loads fine in the mapvote. NewCTF is not doing anything special it's just a regular gametype like any other. So it should work with any mapvote.[rev]rato.skt wrote: βMon May 01, 2023 8:41 pm Hey man,

Can you detail what went wrong on your side?
From my testing you need to configure NewCTF for as you can enable/disable its features with the defaults I can't spot any different settings when they are all left on default.
How many gametypes do you need [rev]rato.skt? I see a possible hack that can be done to extend the supported count to 256, and with another possible hack the limit could be increased to 500 or something. But to have infinite gametypes then a lot of things need to be remade from scratch. Do you need infinite gametypes?[rev]rato.skt wrote: βTue Mar 28, 2023 11:35 am hey deepu since you're helping again it could help to increase the amount of rules, I have some suggestions I don't know if it would be possible..
The mapvote respects the standard UWindow GUI scaling. You can change GUI scaling in the menu. For 436 you can choose between Normal and Double, for 469 you get an actual slider you can tweak to your needs.[rev]rato.skt wrote: βTue Mar 28, 2023 11:35 am an upscaling option to be able to choose between 3 different sizes.
That said, yeah, being able to resize the mapvote to see more maps would rock, I agree! But for this to happen the layout needs to be remade to support resizing which is a lot of work. Right now everything is at a fixed location.

Re: Map Vote Extended - MVE2g-v1
Release: MVE2g-v1
Download at first post of thread!
Download at first post of thread!
- NEW FEATURE: Idle time tracking and idle map switch. MVE will keep
track to see if the server is empty and if its empty for a configurable
amount of time the MVE will transition into idle state. This adds extra
logging to let you know at a glance the status of the server.
When going to idle mode you have 2 configurable options now, wether youCode: Select all
[MVE] Map Vote Extended version: MVE2g [MVE] Currently idle, has been empty for at least 60 minutes [MVE] Server has been empty for 2 hours [MVE] Server has been empty for 3 hours
want the server to switch to a random or a default map. This can help ensure
that the server is in a clean state ready for new players. Or if you have a
hub or welcome map you can have MVE switch to that. All this is configurable
with the following properties:
Code: Select all
[MVES.MapVote] bSwitchToRandomMapOnIdle=True bSwitchToDefaultMapOnIdle=False ServerIdleAfterMinutes=60 DefaultMap=DM-Deck16][ DefaultGameTypeIdx=0
- REVIVED OLD FEATURE: ServerInfoURL can now be used to display a
basic html page. An example can be found in thewww/server-info.html
this example is provided for you so that you can edit it. To enable this
feature you need to configure the property:
This file needs to be hosted on a public HTTP server. Servers that forceCode: Select all
[MVES.MapVote] ServerInfoURL=http://<<your-http-host>>/pages/server-info.html
HTTPS won't work. But if you have redirect server you can put it there.
For links to work the should start withhttp://
your browser should
be able to redirect you to the equivalenthttps://
site
The HTML that's supported here is very old and primitive, you cannot use
CSS or JavaScript and only very basic tags work
- Updated about page. The support link now points to ut99 forum thread.
I've also added myself to the list of credits. - Small UI adjustments: screenshots are now slightly bigger. They should be
128x128 size on 100% GUI scaling. There is slightly more space for map info
below the screenshots for long map/author names. - Cleaner startup log. MapVote will now log version when starting up and
a success message when startup has finished. A succesful startup should be
relatively cleaner than before. Unsuccessful startups should log errors and
and diagnostics.
Code: Select all
[MVE] Map Vote Extended version: MVE2g [MVE] Successfully loaded map: `AS-Frigate` idx: 0 mode: Assault - Normal

Re: Map Vote Extended - MVE2g-v1
Hi! I would like to ask you what would you like to accomplish with the tab rename?
I'm asking because there will be multiple changes regarding this feature. If I know the motivation behind the request then even if I don't implement your suggestion I might do something to be able to accomplish it. But there also might be a different feature that would possibly better accomplish what you are trying to do.
If I were to implement your suggestion I would remove the secondary menu bar at the bottom and covert all the pages under the info tab into tabs for better visibility. And then yes, I would make the tabs more configurable. But as it is right now the info tab groups multiple pages and it would be incorrect to group them all under a "Rules" tab.
