CTF-UTDMS-StoneForts2

Just to start off, if you play in Spectator Mode a lot you will not like this map.
Image

What we have here are two bases which are not entirely symmetrical, both of them embedded in a mountain. There's a lot of open space between them...

...but a good portion of this is underground.

Outside play area is fairly expansive with lots of varying terrain.

Each team has 2 UTDMS.

Usual Suspects:
.u - /system
.umx - /music
.unr - /maps
.utx - /textures

Enjoy!

It's an interesting map which I think works pretty well as a 'place' with a specific character and atmosphere. The author has this to say about the concept behind it
Err, not designed to be a gameplay map at all. I guess it was sort of at the very start but the moment I finished the terrain it stopped being a proper map and more of an experiment. The main aim is to make a medium to large terrain map that feels much larger than it really is. If you look at the basic layout, it isn't actually that complicated though the buildings and caves and secret areas make it feel much larger. You should have fun trying to explore.
The discussion in the readme is unusually honest as Bot_40 describes those parts of the map he is not happy with as well as those that he is happy with.

The map is fun to explore and the layout makes for combat at short, medium and long range - so it is fun to play as well. So a nice choice of map to put some Berserkers in :tu:

Just to alert people - there is one fatal BSP hole in the map - around the top of the two gate towers that lead to a blocked-off track and tunnel - don't translocate up to the top of the towers though you can jump from one tower onto the central arch and then to the other. I found out the hard way before I read the readme.

Should one wish, it is possible to translocate up to the higher level of terrain that runs around three sides of the map - plenty of sniping opportunities there - that area is not pathed for bots though.

It's probably of no great significance but the Blue team has 20 starts to the 15 for the Red team.

Likely not a big deal, unless the defaults are manually set in the .ini files the normal maximums for players is 8 to a team.
