Epic has turned off Master Servers and Support for UT99, UT2k4 & UT3 - What To Do?

EDIT June 5th, 2023: The Steam page for UT3X has been changed back to it's original UT3 description. No news has been shared about whether there is a new page being developed or if the project has been cancelled.

well there's two theories going around, either Epic is making a separate UTX / UT3X page, or this is their last nail in the coffin for unreal. only time will tell.
I had my hopes up because I really love Warfare and VCTF in ut3 and would love to see some big games going, but at this point idk what's going on.

i doubt it. they massively screwed up with ut4 and the community was pretty mad. i mean seriously, they removed hammer jumping in order to force players to use the grenade launcher alt fire to jump higher and then abandoned the community. I think epic ghosted us because they didn't know how to bounce back, and i think backlash also offended them. They don't want an audience of adults, or ut oldschoolers, they want an audience of kids that will steal their parent's credit cards. ut is a game for adults with an m rating, and we just want to pay once and play/mod.

i think the only way they would go through with making another unreal game is if they hired a team out of the modding communities and let them make the game as a passion project. and considering epic's stance on profit, i really don't see that happening.
